ImageJustin Colby, 24, joined the Army to “avenge the attacks of 9/11.” He served a year as a medic in Iraq and received the Army Commendation Medal for exceedingly meritorious service while under fire. In July 2006 he went to Canada rather than redeployment to Iraq. "When I realized the people we were killing had nothing to do with 9/11,” he said, “I realized, this is wrong.'" He is living in Toronto and seeking political refugee status.
