ImageSpecialist Katherine Jashinski, 24, enlisted in the Army National Guard at age 19. Katherine applied for conscientious objector status in 2004. The Army denied her claim and ordered her to weapons training. In November 2005, she refused, saying “I will never take another person's life.” In May 2006, she pled guilty to refusal to obey an order and was sentenced to 4 months jail and a bad conduct discharge. She was released and discharged in July 2006.
